If your child shows challenging behavior,  display the Try Harder Coin

and play The Try Harder Song from  The Kids Coins Song Collection

After they have completed their task or activity they can receive the

Gold Star that corresponds to the time of day. Place the correct Gold Coin over the Try Harder Coin and praise your child for doing a good job.

If your child continues to have a difficult time, encourage them to become your helper by displaying the Helper Coin  and choose a special chore they can do to help earn a star.  You  may  want  to choose a task that you usually do yourself like folding and putting away their cloths.

The Time Out Coin can be used at your own discretion, or you may choose not to use it at all. Children most likely will be happy to be your "Special Helper" if you allow them to choose between the Try Harder and Helper Coins and the Time Out Coin.

The Winner Coin and Good Fruits Coin can be displayed  in  your  hanging  display  or given to your child after they have earned all their stars at the end of the day or week. Explain to children that they are a WINNER and they have had a FRUITFUL week.

USING "I'M FEELING" COINS (22 - Silver Coins)

Direct children to look at the faces on all 16 Coins and help them choose

one or more of the Coins that best describes the way they feel.

Place the Coins into one of the vacant rows of the hanging display. This

will help children to understand how they feel as they look at the faces.

Direct children to sing The Kids Coins Happy Song.

Children can change the Coins throughout the day.  For example:

Ask them if they feel TESTY or FRIENDLY, TIRED or PEACEFUL?

Let them know they have a choice.

I'm Feeling Coins can be used with The Reward System. As children complete tasks and activities, ask them to share how they feel about

doing their chores.

Children can earn GOLD COINS by showing positive feelings as directions are followed and activities are completed. Show children that being KIND

or HAPPY can help earn them a GOLD COIN!

The Coins can be displayed side by side, or one Feeling Coin can be

placed over the other to show that the child's feelings have changed.

Remember to help them read the name on the Coins, and to share

all the different ways they feel throughout the day.

Children can make the faces on the Coins while looking in the mirror,

or they can carry them in their colorful carry bag.

USING "I'M PLAYING" COINS (22 - Character Coins)

Children can play with "I'm Playing" Coins as they choose one or more of the Coins to encourage imaginary role playing and activities.  Place them into one of the vacant rows of the hanging display.

Example:

               •DANCER/SINGER/ENTERTAINER-

Children can put on a costume, sing, dance or play an instrument

               •ARTIST-children can draw and color

•COMPUTER WIZ-children can be directed to play computer

games on The Kids Coins Web site

•BASEBALL PLAYER-your child can get their hat, glove, ball

and bat and go outdoors to play baseball with their friends

Maybe a child would like to be a Fire Fighter, a Builder or a Policeman. Direct the child to sing The Kitty Cat Song. They can imagine they rescued their kitty or doggie out of a tree! Kids will have fun singing and making up stories as they play!

When children sing the Kids Coins Show Me song, they will be able to imagine all the things they would like to be when they grow up. In school, children learn about career education. I'm Playing Coins help them to learn more about themselves.

"I’m Playing" Coins can be used with The Reward System and the "I'm Feeling" Program. Explain to children that when they play, complete their tasks and activities and share their feelings, they can earn GOLD COINS!

Now that you have learned how to use The Kids Coins Reward System,
The "I'm Feeling" Coins and "I'm Playing" Coins, you can use all the Coins
together as you display them thru out the day in your Kids Coins Display.

Simply choose the Coins you want to use and place them in each row
of your display.

As children complete their tasks and activities, choose and change their feelings and choose the Coins they want to play, they can earn Gold Coins.

Kids Coins bring all the things together that a child experiences in one
easy to use program, adding structure as they learn good behavior.

Group Activities Using Gold Coins

When using Kids Coins for more than one child, multiple sets of Gold Coins can be used (one set per child),  or one set of Gold Coins can be used as a group activity, the entire group earning one Gold Coin after each activity or task.      Example: DRESS TIME-all children properly hang up their coats.

Each  child  can collectively place their own One Star Gold Coin into the

hanging display, or one Gold Coin can be displayed for the entire group.

Children are WINNERS, everyday!

More Ways To Use Kids Coins

Using the Kids Coins hanging display, children can view the tasks and activities they have completed. They will be able to visually understand how they feel when they are doing the things they are doing, and they will

be able to choose the things they like to play all day. Children can be encouraged to earn their GOLD COINS using all the Coins.

Children may want to make their own Coins and discover their own ways to play. They may want to sit down on the floor and look at all the Coins and talk about them, as they share them with their friends.

Remember to keep Kids Coins in a safe place for everyday use. Store them in their colorful bags, or in the Kids Coins display.

Complete the day by allowing children to look at all the things they did. Encourage them to talk about all the things they accomplished, all the feelings they had, and all the games they played. Show children all the things they did to earn their GOLD COINS.

Talk about the fun they had singing The Kids Coins Songs. They were an actor or an actress, a dancer, a singer, a musician, an artist, a farmer, a chef and so much more!
